Strategic Meeting with DG ENER | 28 June | Porto

On June 28, the Board of Directors of the EE-ISAC Association had the valuable opportunity to hold an engaging meeting with a delegation of DG ENER of the European Commission, led by Director Stephan Lechner and Director Paula Pinho. The agenda of the meeting with the European Commission involved the opening of the PCA of E-REDES, Dr. Ferrari Carreto, together with intriguing presentations about the E-REDES Cybersecurity Strategy by Nuno Medeiros, CISO of E-REDES, the Energy Threat Landscape by Jalal Bouhdada, CEO of Applied Risk. Thomas Krauhausen, Deputy CIS of E.ON, discussed about the current strategic challenges faced by the Operators and Massimo Rocca, Cybersecurity Manager at ENEL, described the EE-ISAC strategic collaboration with key stakeholders in the energy industry.

The meeting was followed by a face-to-face visit to the E-REDES Dispatch Center, with the collaboration and reception of the North Dispatch Area and a virtual visit to the Supervision Centre, conducted by the person in charge of the Centre, Rita Pires, and witness of the daily works of an operator of the E-REDES SOC.

Open and Members-only Plenary Sessions | 29 June | Porto

The EE-ISAC Members had the opportunity to organize an in-person plenary session in Porto at the E-Redes facility to discuss about ongoing projects and cybersecurity-related initiatives and activities, while focusing the open session on topics related to vulnerability management in the light of the Log4J Vulnerabilities and the cybersecurity risks posed by the Russia-Ukraine Crisis. During the open session webinar, the invited speakers delivered their perspectives on the Apache Log4J cyber incidents as well as discussed the possibility of an over-spillage of cyberattacks affecting the European energy grid.
